Nelligan White Receives Two 2019 Retrofit Metamorphosis Awards

Nelligan White Architects is thrilled to announce PS 158 Manhattan Bayard Taylor School and PS 183 Manhattan Robert Louis Stevenson School have individually been recognized in the 2019 Retrofit Metamorphosis Awards for Historic Renovation and Exterior Preservation, respectively.

We are proud to receive the award for our renovation work at PS 158 Manhattan in which we restored the historic facade. This project is already the winner of the 2018 Victorian Society New York Preservation/Restoration Award, the 2018 Friends of the Upper East Side Historic Districts Renaissance Award, and the 2019 SARA NY Design Award of Honor.

It is also an honor to be recognized for our comprehensive rehabilitation of PS 183 Manhattan’s brick exterior. This is the project’s first award of recognition.

We would like to thank Retrofit Magazine for awarding us these distinctions. We will be sharing the honor with the School Construction Authority and our consulting team for both projects: Adams European Contracting Inc., Gilsanz Murray Steficek LLP, Clifford Dias, and Toscano Clements Taylor LLC. We would also like to give thanks to Principal Dina Ercolano and Assistant Principal Janice Liao of PS 158, and Principal Martin Woodard and Assistant Principal Kim Banks of PS 183. The critical contributions of the many individuals involved were crucial to the successful completion of PS 158 Manhattan and PS 183 Manhattan.
